Kom in de Kas always
takes place during the first weekend of April. In 2008: on Saturday 5th
and 6th of April.
Some greenhouses will only be open on Saturday and some only on Sunday.
Others will be open on both days.
What is Kom in de
Kas?
Kom in de Kas is an annual public event of the Dutch cultivation
under glass and first took place in 1977. During Kom in de Kas the
public is welcome to visit the greenhouses of glasshouse
gardeners with different varieties of crop, like vegetables, flowers
and plants. The gardeners will tell you about their products, their way
of cultivation and their care for the environment.
Except for the glasshouse
gardeners, other agricultural companies participate with Kom in
de Kas. Annually, more than 200.000 interested consumers visit the
participating companies. Every year more than three hundred companies in
more than twenty five areas of greenhouses participate.
Because the Boerma
Instituut is build in a green house and located in the center of
Aalsmeer we also will have Open House during these days and will
show you what you can do with a lot of these natural products.
During the Open House
on the 28th of June 2008, you are welcome to come and have a look at
the examination arrangements from the international course for ‘Master
in Dutch Floral Design’.
During the Horti
Fair (the dates van 2008 are not known at the moment but
probably on 7, 8, 9 en 10 October) there will be an ‘Open House’, on these days there will be
demonstrations from (former) students and teachers from our
(international) courses.
Naturally
the entrance during the Open House is free of charge.
