Dear people,
The 2005 reunion has come and gone, and
what a enjoyable evening we had.
With a great turnout. Surprisingly, a
lot of guests came from abroad, specially for this event.
Theo and José were surprised and
spoiled, and rightly so, cause this was partly their night too, due
to the 25th anniversary of their Boerma Instituut.
After an exotic welcome cocktail, the
evening started with a demonstration by Bart van der Elsken. A very
surprising presentation, focussed on a combination of floral design
and business.
Various very handy ideas were ‘rolling’
over the counter, whilst very contemporary floral arrangements
were produced a very high pace.
The firm Van Dillewijn lightened up our
day by contributing a numerous amount of wrapping materials for the
exam arrangements of
the International advanced course.
For more information about their
products, go to their website at www.dillewijn.nl
The theme yellow and exotic and the
competition ‘try something else with palm leaves’ were a great
hit with the guests. The jury had a very hard time deciding who
should win the prize for ‘best arrangement’. The leaves were
used very imaginatively , from a handbag to skirt and from hair
attire to a Venetian carnival mask.
A lot of compliments for one of our
teachers, Keat Leong, who organized an exotic brides show.
Seven exotic brides, traditionally dressed and carrying bridal
bouquets in the same style as their dresses, stole the show. A final
with bridal bouquets made by the International Advanced Course, was
one of the headliners, this also because they were in the show
itself.
When the time came to get the
party started, everybody started dancing, despite the very, very
warm weather, to which we have almost grown accustomed at the
reunion night.
Nothing left to say, except that you
can download the latest Boerma inform@il at: http://dutchfloraldesign.com/uk/informail/informail.htm
, or by request, can be send to you by post.
On the 30th of June 2006 we’ll go for
it all over again!!
On behalf of everyone at the Boerma
Instituut
